Are you addicted to exercise/endorphins? I know that many of my clients are! I can also get hooked on that 'buzz' after a run or swim - even after a hard HIIT workout there's nothing that beats that feeling!
If you aren't one of these it may be worth finding the type of exercise that can get you to love it (this is what makes exercise a sustainable part of your life) but if you are you do need to make sure that are also looking after yourself. Pushing yourself until you tear a muscle or overdo things can actually make you less able to keep exercise part of your life and can be exceedingly frustrating, leading to irritability and the temptation to restart your workouts too soon. So what can you do to make sure that you get your 'buzz' and stay fit and healthy? Make sure that you put in rest days, ensure that you get the right nutrition to give you energy and to repair the muscles that you have used...and of course a sports massage can help you to avoid injury before you even feel it! It may be useful to book a massage now if you plan on getting into exercise over the festive period or maybe before you start a new regime come the New Year. If you know someone that could benefit from a bit of 'downtime' and a full body check over from a quaified professional get in touch as this might be the perfect gift for the sporty people in your life!
